| Glo-Worm Studios is a small, modern studio facility, easily accesible in the west end of Glasgow.
The studio consists of a control room and a wooden-floored live room. The control rooom is extensively acoustically treated using Realtraps, and the live room has movable rugs and acoustic screens (realtraps and auralex), which allow control and variation of the room's ambience.
The studio is ideally suited to singer-songwriter, acoustic, folk or electronic artists. The location (we have neighbours) means that it is not possible to record drums on-site, but other arrangements can be made, as the studios' equipment is portable. If you hope to record live drums for your project, please contact us to discuss the logistics.
All bookings include engineer Iain Hutchsion who can for no extra cost fulfil the role of producer for your project. Furthermore, Iain can play guitar (electric or acoustic), piano/keyboards, bass or percussion as a session player, if this is required for your recording.
Mixing is carried out within Logic or Pro-Tools software (your choice!) using a comprehensive selection of plug-ins - see the equipment list for details. Mastering services are also available.
The intention at Glo-Worm is to capture great performances, in a relaxed and comfortable environment with great acoustics, using a selection of carefully chosen high quality equipment. A selection of valve gear, some excellent mics and pre-amps will ensure your sound is captured with warmth and clarity.
