Eoghan Colgan is back in the studio again in November to record a new 5/6 track EP. The State Broadcasters will also be back in the Studio very soon to master their new EP which is due for release before the end of the Year, and ceilidh band 'Jiggered' are planning to record a 3 track EP.
There are several other exciting projects in the pipeline, but until things are finalised, we can't give anything more away... watch this space!
News Update: October 2006
Well it's been a really busy last few months... here's the details:
Gavin Urie completed his album 'Tied in Two places' in April. The album was fully recorded, mixed and mastered at Glo-Worm. He is planning to come back to the studio soon (maybe in November) to record some more tunes.
Clarsach player Rachel Hair's Album 'Hubcaps and Potholes' was recorded and mixed at Glo-Worm between April and June this year. So far sales have been going well.
The Torag album was (finally!!) completed in early June, and is now available for sale - online on the torag myspace page, or from Avalanche Records, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The album was fully recorded and mixed by Iain Hutchison.
Iain Spent a week in Secret Music studio, engineering for Skipinnish, who were recording and mixing tracks for their new album, which is out now.
Immediately after the Skipinnish Sessions, all the Glo-Worm gear was packed into the car and taken to a country house on the west coast where Iain spent a week recording with Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain for their new album, which is out now.
In July and August Iain was doing some engineering work for Uist Media Group, including recording the Ceolas music festival in Uist, mixing live sessions for Radio Scotland, and more recently (September) recording a concert in Glenuig for the BBC Documentary "Brothers in Music".
Also in August, Iain did some recording with Rob Shah, producing a new acoustic track with some electronica. This track can be heard on the Glo-Worm Studios myspace page.
More recently in October, Iain has been working with Glasgow Singer-songwriter Laura Kenny, to record a 6 track acoustic EP.
March 2006:
This month the studio has been busy...
Mairearad Green and Anna Massie were in for a couple of days recording.
Declan Heggarty has been recording a mixture of Guitar/Vocal tracks and Irish Harp tunes.
Gavin Urie has continued to record for his EP (which has now become an Album!)
Work is still on-going on the Torag Album! Bassist Duncan Lyall has been in the studio recording double bass for one of the new songs.
February 2006:
Iain has just completed some recording, mixing and mastering for singer/songwriter Eoghan Colgan. EP launch is scheduled for March 18th at the ABC on Sauchiehall Street.
January 2006:
The latest Torag album is nearing completion - The final sessions at Glo-Worm this month should see the record finished. The band intend to have the album pressed and released in time for Easter 2006. More details can be found at www.torag.co.uk.
Also this month, local singer/songwriter Gavin Urie is in the studio recording a new EP.
The State Broadcasters were in the studio mastering a couple of tracks which are featuring on a compilation album of Glasgow based artists.
